We are seeking a Business Analyst with a strong focus on business operations, specifically around SAP usage, to support and enhance our team’s ability to use SAP effectively. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business processes and bridge the gap between user needs and SAP functionality. This role offers the opportunity to standardize and optimize business processes through SAP, ensuring our organization runs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirement Gathering: Work closely with business stakeholders, especially in Finance, to understand their needs, challenges, and goals. Translate these into actionable SAP requirements.
- SAP Super User: Leverage your SAP knowledge from a user perspective, emphasizing how business processes, particularly in Finance, can be streamlined and improved through SAP functionality.
- ERP System Facilitation: Act as the primary contact for users, helping them understand and effectively use SAP to meet their business objectives. Focus on practical, user-driven solutions.
- Process Standardization: Lead efforts to standardize processes across the organization, ensuring consistency in SAP usage for business activities.
- Develop SOPs: Create and document Standard Operating Procedures that align business processes with SAP, focusing on areas requiring discipline and consistency.
- Finance Operations Expertise: Apply your understanding of financial operations to streamline and standardize SAP usage in financial processes, ensuring alignment with business needs.
Experience Required
- Experience with various SAP modules (MM, PP, SD, CS, QM, PM) in logistics.
- Understanding of the integration advantages and requirements of different modules, including basic finance and controlling.
- SAP Best Practices: Expertise in how SAP implements specific business processes.
- Experience with international SAP setups.
- Knowledge of the process flow in SAP from Sales Order Entry to invoicing.
- Order Types: Understanding of make-to-stock vs. make-to-order processes.
- Experience with multi-plant purchase orders vs. stock transfer orders.
- Order Types: Knowledge of domestic vs. Canadian orders.
- Part Number Management: Skilled in cleaning up part number situations.
- Process Chain: Ability to document, translate to SAP processes, see integration possibilities, optimize processes, integrate relevant departments, evaluate side effects, conduct risk assessments, and sell SAP processes to the business.
- Act according to management's priorities and goals.
- Understand SME operations and needs.
- Work with a project management methodology.
- Multi-Plant Transactions: Knowledgeable about the flow of activities through multiple plants from sales order to invoice.
Qualifications
- Strong business knowledge, with the ability to understand and translate business processes into SAP requirements.
- Practical understanding of SAP from a user perspective, focusing on effective usage by business teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage non-technical business users and explain SAP functionalities clearly and practically.
- Experience in developing and writing SOPs to align business operations with ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, focused on driving standardization and process discipline.
- Broad knowledge of SAP modules and their integration, rather than deep specialization.
- Ability to manage and optimize business processes through SAP, considering the integration of all relevant departments.
